When it comes to utilizing AI, many online business operators and aspiring entrepreneurs often mention content creation as the primary use.
They talk about how AI can save them time by answering support emails or composing standard replies.
Some even use AI for generating ideas or creating lists and resources. These are all valid and beneficial uses.
However, there is a significant aspect of AI’s profitability that many overlook. To understand this missing piece, we just need to look at successful online businesses.
For instance, let’s consider my own business. I earn a living by writing and selling my work.
Each time I create a course or publication, it becomes part of my product catalog. Since these products are evergreen, I continue to sell them over time.
The more products I create and sell, the more money I make. If I could create a unique product every day, maintaining the same high quality, I would do so.
In the online marketing game, if your buyers can’t purchase from you, they will buy from someone else.
It’s crucial to remember that if it’s not you, it will be someone else.
Now, I personally don’t use AI, such as ChatGPT, to create my products. I have a distinct voice and style that resonates with my readers, subscribers, and buyers.
I value the feedback I receive and don’t want to jeopardize that by having AI create my products.
However, for product creators who aren’t as concerned about maintaining a specific voice, there is a highly profitable aspect of AI: creating unique products that you have full ownership rights and copyright over.
Owning the rights to unique assets is how people become wealthy.
Just imagine having the rights to Paul McCartney’s song “Yesterday” or the copyright for one of the Harry Potter books. Ownership of assets is the path to wealth.
Don MacLean earns hundreds of thousands of dollars in royalties each year from his song “American Pie” because it’s played on radio stations worldwide multiple times a day.
While my earnings from publications are considerably less, a three-module course can bring in $8,000 to $20,000 in its first year and continue to generate income as I market and sell it.
That’s why I create as many products as possible. The income adds up rapidly.
And this is what smart marketers should be doing with AI: creating unique products, assets, publications, eBooks, images, vectors, designs, and anything else that can be marketed and sold.
The key here is ownership. Utilize AI to create as much unique content and assets as possible that you own outright. Then, sell them.
To give you an idea of the potential, I asked ChatGPT to generate a list of 100 digital assets that I could own 100% and sell as an online business.
