Video Summary:
NotebookLM currently does not offer a built-in search feature that enables users to search across multiple notebooks simultaneously.
Instead, the emphasis is placed on using Gemini, a tool designed to facilitate the integration and analysis of notebooks.
The initial step in this process involves adding files from NotebookLM into Gemini, which requires users to utilise the same NotebookLM account that is linked to Gemini.
Users can select two notebooks for integration, typically opting for the most recent ones available.
This selection process involves ticking the boxes next to the chosen notebooks and confirming the selection by clicking the Enter key.
Once the notebooks are successfully integrated into Gemini, the tool provides users with the capability to identify common elements that exist in both notebooks.
The search functionality specifically targets elements classified as sources, allowing users to discern which sources are shared between the two notebooks.
This feature is particularly beneficial for users who need to examine specific aspects across multiple notebooks, especially in contexts where Discover Sources has introduced a variety of sources.
The ability to identify common sources is of significant importance, as it enables users to concentrate on the most relevant sources that appear in both notebooks.
This functionality enhances the user’s capacity to conduct comprehensive research and analysis by highlighting overlapping information.
Consequently, it streamlines the process of gathering insights from multiple notebooks, making it easier for users to synthesise information and draw conclusions.
The video concludes with a note of gratitude and an invitation for viewers to engage with additional content in future videos.

Video Transcript:
Hello and welcome. As of the recording of this video, NotebookLM does not have a native search so that you can search across notebooks.
We’re now inside of Gemini. So we’re going to do is we’re going to add files. We’re going to add files from NotebookLM.
We’re going to use the same NotebookLM account that we are attached to inside of Gemini.
We’re going to grab two notebooks and typically the most recent ones are going to be available.
We’re going to tick off these two notebooks. We’re then going to click Enter.
Now, what we have inside of Gemini is we have the ability to look for common elements inside of both notebooks.
We’re going to look specifically for common elements within both notebooks that are used as sources.
We’ll allow Gemini to do the search and so Gemini will tell you what the common elements are between the two notebooks.
So you can use Gemini as a search across notebooks that you can attach to a specific conversation.
When you’re looking for specific aspects of multiple notebooks, this is relevant if Discover Sources has brought in sources and you want to know which are the most important sources between multiple notebooks.
And if there’s a common source, you want to be able to pay attention to that common source. Okay, so that thanks and I will see you in another video.
